Recovery Services of New Mexico Five Points location is an outpatient, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) facility for those struggling with opioid addiction. Utilizing methadone, counseling and supportive recovery services, Recovery Services Five Points helps patients overcome their addiction and prepare for a life in long-term recovery.
Medication-Assisted Treatment in Albuquerque New Mexico
Medication-assisted treatment with methadone is the gold standard for effective treatment of opioid use disorder, commonly known as opioid addiction. For more than 50 years methadone has been tested and shown to provide withdrawal and craving management that allows individuals the opportunity to focus on all elements of long-term recovery. Certified by CARF, the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, our evidence-based treatment program can help patients with addictions to both prescription medications and illicit opioids such as heroin.
Upon enrollment, the patient will meet with our medical provider who will prescribe a therapeutic dose of medication to ease withdrawal symptoms without creating feelings of euphoria as illicit opioids once did. During the initial stabilization period, the patient will visit the treatment center daily to receive their medication, but over time as they comply with the treatment program, may earn take-home medication and visit the program less frequently.
Each individual has unique needs. Treatment plans are tailored to the individual, meeting that patient where they are at on their recovery journey.

Five Points Methadone Clinic Counseling
Recovery Services of New Mexico Five Points understands the significance of counseling for those working to overcome their opioid addiction. Individual and/or group counseling is not only required during MAT, but more importantly is a valuable part of the recovery process. When the physical symptoms of opioid use are present, it is difficult for patients to look at the causes and consequences of their drug use, address their general health and well-being or learn to manage stress and implement positive coping mechanisms.
Addressing each of these areas is an essential part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Individual and group counseling sessions provide Recovery Services of New Mexico patients the opportunity to work through these and other important aspects of their treatment plan. Patients will also work closely with their counselors to monitor the effectiveness of their medication and address any concerns or issues. The counselor is the patient’s advocate and liaison to the medical provider, working as a team to adjust the treatment plan as needed to ensure the highest level of care.
